The Lynk & Co 06 is a compact, five-door crossover SUV that positions itself as an entry-level premium offering in urban markets, primarily in China and select European regions. It is built on Geely’s BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture) platform, a scalable architecture that underpins several Geely and Volvo models.
The vehicle is available with traditional internal combustion engines (ICE), mild-hybrid (MHEV), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrains, but it is not an all-electric vehicle.
Design and Interior
The 06 carries the signature Lynk & Co design language, featuring the distinctive split-headlight design and a contemporary, rugged urban aesthetic. It has five doors and seats five passengers.
- Interior: The cabin is modern and minimalist, with a focus on connectivity. It features a large floating central infotainment touchscreen (typically 10.2 inches or larger) and a digital instrument cluster. Higher trims offer premium materials, unique color accents, and a panoramic sunroof.
- Technology: The vehicle is highly connected, offering integrated services, smartphone mirroring, and car-sharing capabilities, in line with the brand’s unique subscription model offerings in Europe.
Powertrain and Performance
The Lynk & Co 06 offers several powertrain choices depending on the market.
Gasoline/Mild-Hybrid (MHEV): Standard models use a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, sometimes paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Power outputs typically range from 177 hp to just over 180 hp. These versions are generally Front-Wheel Drive (FWD).
- Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV): The PHEV variant combines the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with an electric motor.
- Total Power Output (PHEV): The combined system power is approximately 262 hp (193 kW).
- PHEV Performance: The PHEV version is quicker, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7 seconds.
- Drivetrain: Most configurations are Front-Wheel Drive (FWD).
- Transmission: It uses either a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) for gasoline and MHEV models or a 7-speed hybrid-specific DCT for the PHEV model.
Range and Battery (PHEV Only)
- Battery Size (PHEV): The plug-in hybrid model is equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack, typically around 15.5 kWh in capacity.
- Pure Electric Range (PHEV): The pure electric range for the PHEV model is approximately 55 km (around 34 miles) on the WLTP cycle.
- Total Range: The total combined range with a full fuel tank and a full charge is around 700-800 km.
Technology and Safety
The 06 is known for its strong safety ratings (5-star C-NCAP) and is equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including full-speed adaptive cruise control, automated parking assist, autonomous emergency braking, and a surround-view camera system.
