The NIO ET7 is a flagship, premium, smart electric executive sedan designed to rival high-end vehicles such as the Tesla Model S, Mercedes EQS, and BMW i7. It combines a luxurious interior, powerful performance, and cutting-edge autonomous driving hardware with NIO’s signature battery-swapping technology.
Performance and Drivetrain
The ET7 features a standard intelligent dual-motor all-wheel drive system using silicon carbide power modules for efficiency.
- Total Power Output: The system delivers a peak power of 480 kW (644 hp/653 PS) and maximum torque of 850 Nm.
- Motors: It uses a 180 kW permanent magnet motor in the front and a more powerful 300 kW induction motor in the rear.
- Acceleration: The ET7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 3.8 or 3.9 seconds.
- Top Speed: The top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h (124 mph).
Battery and Range
The ET7 is offered with different battery capacities, enabling both traditional charging and rapid battery swaps at Power Swap Stations.
- 75 kWh Battery: Offers a CLTC range of over 500 km and a WLTP range of approximately 445 km (277 miles).
- 100 kWh Battery: Offers a CLTC range of over 700 km and a WLTP range of approximately 580 km (360 miles).
- 150 kWh Battery (Semi-Solid State): This ultra-long-range option, available primarily as a flexible upgrade via subscription, has achieved a real-world CLTC range of over 1,000 km (nearly 650 miles) in test drives.
Interior and Technology
The cabin is designed around a “second living room” concept, offering a highly advanced and comfortable experience.
- Displays: A 12.8-inch AMOLED center display and a 10.2-inch HDR instrument cluster display anchor the digital cockpit.
- NOMI: The interactive in-car AI system can respond to voice commands naturally and assist with various tasks.
- Premium Comfort: Standard features across all trims include heated, ventilated, and massage seats for both front and rear passengers, frameless windows, and soft-close doors.
- Audio: A powerful 7.1.4 immersive sound system with 23 speakers and a 1,000W output is standard.
Assisted Driving and Sensors
The ET7 is a computer on wheels, featuring highly advanced hardware for safety and autonomous driving features (NAD).
- NIO Aquila Super Sensing: This system integrates 33 high-performance sensing units, including an ultra-long-range high-resolution LiDAR sensor, multiple 8 MP high-resolution cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic sensors.
- NIO Adam Super Computing: The onboard computer cluster is powered by four NVIDIA DRIVE Orin SoCs, delivering a massive total computing power of 1,016 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second).
- Features: The full suite of assisted driving functions, which covers expressway and urban scenarios, is often provided through a monthly subscription service.
