The Zeekr 7X is a new all-electric, mid-size luxury SUV designed to compete with vehicles like the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX3. It is built on Geely’s advanced 800-volt Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, emphasizing a blend of luxury, technology, and performance.
Design and Interior
The 7X features a modern, European design with a classic SUV silhouette and a sleek, low drag coefficient of 0.247 Cd. Key design elements include frameless automatic doors with obstacle avoidance, a high beltline, and a power-operated panoramic glass roof with a sunshade.
The interior is designed as a luxurious and practical “family haven” for five passengers.
- Seating: Features soft-touch materials, Nappa leather upholstery on higher trims, and heated, ventilated, and massage functions for the front seats. The rear seats also recline electronically and offer generous legroom.
- Technology: The cabin is dominated by a 16-inch 3.5K Mini-LED central display, a 13.02-inch digital instrument cluster, and a large 36.21-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD). The infotainment system is powered by a high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip.
- Practicality: The 7X boasts 36 storage compartments, a large 539-liter boot (expanding to 1,978 liters), and a front storage compartment (“frunk”) of 42 to 62 liters, depending on the drivetrain.
Performance and Drivetrain
The Zeekr 7X is a purely all-electric vehicle available with both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations.
- RWD Version: Uses a single rear motor with 310 kW (416 hp) of power and 440 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.8 to 6.0 seconds.
- AWD Version: Adds a front motor for a combined power output of 475 kW (646 hp) and 710 Nm of torque. This variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a rapid 3.8 seconds.
- Suspension: High-end models feature “Magic Carpet Air Suspension” with Continuous Damping Control (CDC), which adjusts the ride height and comfort in real time.
Battery and Range
The 7X utilizes 800-volt technology and two primary battery options, both featuring advanced cell technology.
- 75 kWh Battery (Golden Brick LFP): Offers a WLTP range of approximately 480 km (298 miles).
- 100 kWh Battery (Qilin NMC): Offers a WLTP range of up to 615 km (382 miles) in the RWD version. The AWD model with this battery has a WLTP range of around 543 km (337 miles).
Charging Time
The 800V architecture enables ultra-fast charging capabilities.
- DC Fast Charging: The 75 kWh battery can charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes at a high-power charger. The 100 kWh battery takes approximately 16 minutes for a 10% to 80% charge.
- AC Charging: The vehicle supports up to 22 kW AC charging, allowing a full charge in roughly 4 to 5.5 hours depending on battery size.
Safety
The Zeekr 7X achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and includes advanced systems like Lidar-enabled emergency braking, a child-monitoring camera system, and industry-first safety features for breaking windows in an emergency.
